KAPA HAKA

The guitar started to play, we slowly walked forward  as Hunter started to sing Tu Mai Ra. We knelt as Hunter sung with lots of mana.  It felt good.  Yesterday, Wainui Beach School went to the Turanganui Schools' Maori Cultural Festival at the Gisborne Showgrounds.  There were heaps of people there and it felt a bit nerve wracking to be on stage!

A Utina A Hi A Utina A Hi all the boys chanted as we marched to the front of the stage. The kaea started to chant, HI Au Au Aue ha HI. After our two hakas the girls walked up between the lines of boys and sung Wainui e. For our last song we sung He Honore .

At the end everyone came off with a smile on their face. I was really proud of myself because  didn't want to do it at first. But I did anyway and I'm proud of myself. Yea. Overall the school did awesome.

Thunder Always Strikes Before A Hurricane

Last saturday my soccer team was in the A grade cup final. Last year we lost in the final to the same team but this year bet them 5-1. At half time the score was 2-0 but we were starting to pull ahead but ther score which put them right back in the game it was a hard game because the whole Mangapa team was playing there best But so were we. We also won the league cup because we were undefeated. Here's a photo of the table a the end of the season.

Cross Country 2019

Today we had Cross Country. We started to walk down at 9.15 am. We all walked down in our houses. I'm in red house which is called Karoro.

I came second in a sprint race at the end with  Ziggy. Ziggy is the fastest in Gisborne for his age. I was leading the whole way until right at the end. Now i've  got 5 second place certificates on my wall.

Right at the start Jack smack me in the nose and then my nose started to bleed. At the end I couldn't breath. I stayed too watch the juniors. Overall It was good, fun day.

Revisting Term Two

In term two we went to the Technology Museum for retro tech . My favourite part was the Fire trucks because you can go on top and inside. I hope we can go again.

We also saw the trains at the museum. We also went to the E-Village and I got to ride an electric scooter. Rugby starts next term so we had our first rugby training and it was so fun we got practice our tackles and my kicking because I play first 5. 

Go Crusaders

On Friday I went to Christchurch for five days with my with my aunty and uncle. We went to the Crusaders vs Highlanders the Crusaders won 38-14. 

The next day we went to Orana park we saw heaps of animals I liked the cheetah the most. We were going to feed the Giraffe but there was a really long line and we of had to walk around the whole park again

 On Sunday went to the gym and I meet Richie Mounga after that we went to a cafe then the rest of the day I just chilled. On the last day we went to town and got some presents for my brother and my mum then I got to watch the Crusaders train.


The Crusaders will play the Hurricanes in the semi final this weekend.

E Village

Last week we went to the E Village . Firstly we walked through the front door and then we learnt are E Motor bikes and Bikes. Secondly we learnt about different types of energy and how they work.Lastly we got to play with robots, Do this the where you have to pull a tube round a bit of wire without hitting it/ play with logging boats and my favorite the electric scooter.

Face vs Dirt

Just a normal morning skating with gavin.Then we thought that it would be a good idea to do a gap    ( For you that dont know a gap is two ramps and when you clear the gap you move them further apart). We cleared 80cm so we thought we should move it further 85cm that's where it all went WRONG. Push push push I thought I had enuf speed I was wrong. My back truck got stuck on the top of the ramp. As I said Face vs Dirt. P.S dirt won.😂😂

All Pinks

Last week I Toby got all pinks by Wednesday.That's pretty good  because I normally have to take work home on thursday to finish like my maths .This week it's only Tuesday so by the time you see this I will have finished my math, quickwrites and my blog post.😀

Nui Duathlon

We had the Nui Duathlon a few weeks ago. A Duathlon is where you do two sports, we did a run and bike. We had to run 3 laps of our school field and bike two laps of the reserve and run two more laps of the school field. Overall I came second. It was fun but VERY tiring but so so worth it. Overall a great day lots of fun. That's me and my mates after the race.😎🐆

Since I came second I was picked for the inter school triathlon as the runner. Jack was our team swimmer and Shea was our team biker, we came 2nd in the whole of Gisborne

Weeding At Hamanatua

Fennel fennel fennel and more fennel. Today we went to the stream to do some weeding because there are alot of native plants and we were trying to protect the native plants.We pulled out a ton of fennel and more and more fennel basically just a ton of fennel.But we worked together and got the job done.It was like a war with the fennel but we won.😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

2019 Goal

Every year all the year six's go to camp next year i'll be a year six.At camp we get to go on awesome confidence courses and walk up a Mountain .My 2019 GOAL is to walk up Panakiri without winging and moaning.😮😨😎

The Fast Lane

We had to turn a holiday highlight in to a slow write.
The Fast Lane

“Woohoo”!. I feel like this will be our first win as dad and I take the lead with the others
not far behind.I Suddenly I hear the sounds of roaring engines zooming past and  me
dreams all come crashing down. Then we’re in last place. Carefully dad steers us
round the deadly sharp corner and we’re back on track.  
I wonder if we’ll get in front? Although we were in last place, we’re
having the fun of our lives.
Quickly, quietly, and courteously, dad looks and
another cart has crashed on the side with a worker coming to help.
Why is it that their carts were faster than ours? Errrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! We pull in to the pit lane.

Cross Country

Three weeks ago we had cross country. Every year I come 4th this year my goal was to get a place. Our cross country track is at the beach it's a super cool track. It was a long and hard race but I completed it and I came second. Here's a photo.
